Bryan Balfagón aka Balfa is a sonic explorer based in Vinaròs, Spain. With an exquisite ear for uncovering value in glitches and (sonic) bugs as a feature, he crafts alien textures and rhythms by pushing his machines to their limits.

The tracks on XXXXXXXXPPLNN are live recordings, performed on an array of sequencers and synthesizers, including unique homemade devices. This process gives the album a very personal touch.

Recorded between 2021 and 2024, the sessions lay dormant on Balfa's hard drive until rediscovery and inspired a meticulous curatorial process. The result is a tightly woven collection of sounds.

Vandalize
Shoeg

Buy: Nina / Bandcamp
CD / Digital

Tracklist: 01 Vandalize / 02 Starve The Monster / 03 Deliberate Strategy / 04 iridescent exoskeletons of insects / 05 Water Clap / 06 slime mold / 07 warping elastic caustic zones

This new Shoeg EP delves into the microscopic level of sound generation and rhythm, where each percussive element is grown entirely through synthesis to preserve its full timbral potential and precision of articulation. Rather than being recorded, sounds are built from rules into forms that feel both organic and synthetic.

Sound is plastic: it bends, stretches, and compresses, assuming shapes that exist only in the moment. Randomness is not an accident but a constant, permeating every microvariation. It moves within the fragile balance between chance and predictability, between the unfolding of the unexpected and the certainty of an underlying pulse.

The system behind the album was developed specifically to control rhythmic structures with sensors in an organic way, providing essential feedback during performance. This exploration of microsound principles in purely percussive territory reveals new possibilities for electronic rhythm-making.

The EP was recorded and produced between February and March 2025.

MONSTRES
Adrià Grandia

Buy: Bandcamp / Nina
CD / Digital

Tracklist: 01 Humbaba / 02 Minotaure / 03 Polifem / 04 Tu / 05 Amnit / 06 Ningú / 07 Jo Mateix

Adrià has infinite curiosity about any system or language that can help him build his world vision and artistic discourse, which has brought him to mix his traditional knowledge, his mastery of the hurdy-gurdy and new approaches to sound generation with modular synths, laptops and motion sensors.

MONSTRES revolves around crossing the lines of our understanding and what lies beyond our comprehension, even when that includes ourselves.

The album has been recorded live on 30/6/22.
This happened in an old water cistern that eventually became a dung heap. Its circular layout provides unique acoustics to the recording. As the cellar is not a visible open place, it was ideal to develop the MONSTRES imaginary.
